Wedmore Place and the Williamsburg Winery are located on 300 acres known as Wessex Hundred. Just three miles from Historic Williamsburg, Wedmore Place is the perfect location for small groups or a romantic getaway all while providing superior service in relaxing and peaceful surroundings.

Rooms & Suites

Settle yourself into one of 28 uniquely designed rooms and suites. All guests will enjoy a sumptuous retreat with period antiques, European bedding and luxurious linens.

Each room is themed in the style of a different European province, not only in the selection of colors and furnishings, but also the wall hangings and decorations. All rooms have a wood-burning fireplace (availability of fire is based on season and temperature), individual floor designs from Spanish tiles to walnut parquet, 10” ceilings and king size beds. The style of each room reflects not only a different European area but also different periods of history: from the Corinthian room inspired by classic Greece featuring a large marble statue, Corinthian columns, and large white ceramic tiles, to the French Provence room which displays the strong Roman influence and relaxing soft colors.

Continental Breakfast

Start each morning with a complimentary European-style continental breakfast, with freshly baked imported croissants, fresh seasonal fruit, cereals and orange juice, coffee and tea. Breakfast is available in Café Provencal on the lower level from 7:00am to 10:00am Monday – Sunday.

Massages

Ultra-fine Aromatherapy Oil is the base oil that is used in all Wetmore Place massages.  Naturally rich in vitamins, the oil helps keep the skin free from radicals. Fitness Center

The place to go to relieve stress and focus on health and conditioning. Various exercise equipment is featured and complimentary to all guests.

The Swimming Pool

Guests can unwind by the pool and enjoy the peace and quiet of the wooded surroundings and relax with a glass of champagne.

Library

The library offers guests the opportunity to take time and relax while catching up on a little reading. The room is styled in a classic 19th century British Club style, with leather sofas, dark wood bookcases, a fireplace and a card table.

Meeting Space

The 300-acre property has countless wonderful meeting spaces whether you are planning a private retreat or a function for up to 300 people. We offer turn key event planning and coordination services. Our team listens carefully to guests needs and provides creative ideas and suggestions that will turn any meeting or event into reality.

Biking and Walking Trails

Take a walk or bike ride along the scenic 23 mile Colonial Parkway linking Jamestown, Williamsburg and Yorktown. Or stay on the 300 acre winery farm and explore for yourself.

Dinning Options

Café Provencal

Located on the lower level, overlooking the pool terrace, offers guests fine, creative cuisine using only the freshest local ingredients.  Chef Tim Westby-Gibson prides himself in creating every dish from scratch using locally-sourced fish and vegetables from the on-premise 2 acre garden bringing the flavors, sights and smells of Provence to your table. Open Table recently gave Café Provencal its “Diners Choice Badge of Excellence”. This list is generated by feedback from diners who book their reservations through Open Table and continuously receive high marks in Food Quality, Ambience, Service and Overall impression. Gabriel Archer Tavern

The casual dining partner to Café Provencal, the Gabriel Archer Tavern provides meals made with fresh ingredients and meticulous preparation. Visitors may eat in the vineyard room overlooking the Vidal grape vines, in the main dining room or on the wisteria-covered terrace during the warmer months. The Wine Terrace bar serves wine flights also during the warmer months. Open daily for lunch and dinner Thursday through Monday from March to October.
